About Me.

My name is Julie. I have been working as a therapist for over 15 years.      My interest in becoming a therapist began some years ago when I found myself at a point in my life where significant positive changes were required. An employment background in corporate sales highlighted to me the excessively high levels of stress many of us endure - myself included. In addition, a particularly negative relationship left me with very low self-esteem and confidence and with minimal enthusiasm for the good things in life.

During the process of making my own personal changes I discovered at that time how much hypnotherapy can help with a vast array of issues including stress reduction, relaxation, confidence boosting and more. In addition, I used hypnotherapy to quit smoking - a habit of around 15 cigarettes a day for nearly 20 years It also enabled me to take control of my eating habits, allowing me to enjoy all the foods I love in moderation, no longer needing a daily battle with my conscience about what I should or shouldn't eat in order to maintain a certain weight - completely liberating!

From this point on I took the step to become fully qualified in the therapy enabling me to assist others in achieving their goals and helping them feel good about themselves again. I gained the prestigious Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD), and took additional certificates in N.L.P., E.M.D.R. and Stress Management.

I feel very passionately that we can all help ourselves with the right tools, by taking time to stop and listen to what is going on in our mind and also taking control our thoughts. After all, 'you are what you think', so if you think positively about yourself and the things and people around you it stands to reason that you will feel positive. On the flip side, if think negatively then the reverse will happen and unhelpful patterns will surface in our behaviour.

Please contact me to arrange a consultation to discuss your particular concern. The list is endless but just a few of the areas that can be effectively6t treated with hypnotherapy are - anxiety, depression, anger management, blushing, weight loss, smoking, sports performance, stuttering, self-esteem, self-confidence, relationship issues, exam nerves, public speaking, phobias. In fact, almost anything can be achieved.

My Story

What should you look for when choosing a therapist?

It is important to spend some time looking for the right therapist for you.

  • It is advisable to look for someone who has been a therapist for a number of years as they will have the experience and skills to help you.

  • Reading a therapist’s reviews and testimonials will help you to get a feel of other peoples’ experiences.

  • How comfortable do you feel speaking to the therapist on the phone? Chances are if you don’t feel comfortable with him/her you are unlikely to get the best out of your experience.

  • Remember you tend to get what you pay for – an experienced therapist with enhanced skills will tend to charge more than someone who is newly qualified.
